Dear Friends,

Happy New Year and upcoming MAO events

We hope you had a wonderful holiday season with lots of food and family time. Wish you a happy and healthy New Year and decade. At this time, we would like to announce some upcoming events that are in the works by your committee. Please note that we will rely on your responses to gauge the community’s interest in some of these events and to decide if it is worth organizing them.

L’Arche event
The third L’Arche event (postponed from November) will be held on Saturday February 8, 2020. We already have a volunteer group willing to cook and serve lunch at L'Arche Ottawa, 11 Rossland Av, Nepean, ON K2G 2K2 (off Merivale Road). However, more involvement is always a good thing, so if you would like to help out, please email us at

Talent Show
We are planning the talent show in mid April (likely date April 18). We encourage you to start thinking of your best stage performance talent and initiate practice sessions (a good way to spend cold winter weekends, practicing with friends). More info will follow soon.

Cooking/Culinary Contest
During the talent show, we would like to do a cooking contest, where folks can bring food item(s) that they prepared (Appetizer, Main course, Dessert) and present at the event. Community members will taste and vote during the talent show and we will pick winners based on popular vote. If you would like to cook for this, please email us at

Snowshoeing
Snowshoeing is a recreational winter activity appropriate for healthy people of all age groups. We would like to offer an opportunity to community members to get an initiation to this social activity. Some general details below.
